You Time!

Sometimes it hard to take time out for yourself. Your might be self employed, work from home, have a large family, or work long hours, and it is hard to stop and smell the roses let alone sitting back, put your feet up, and just relax. This 3pc Bathroom was decorated with "YOU TIME" in mind. This client works long hours and never really has the time to relax and appreciate her space. What I loved about her was that she realized that she needed to find time to pamper herself. I had a talk with her and reminded her that when you have all work and no play you tend to forget how precious life is!...Below you can see how I pulled a few decorative elements together for her to relax and receive peace and tranquility. The budget was minimal therefore we left the walls painted in an off white color, I added the fresh roses for a splash of color and left the rest of the palette white to give it that spa feeling. Now at the end of a hard days work she can come home relax in the tub, close her eyes and take herself to a happy place....

Many of you may want to decorate or redecorate a room in your home, however in these economic times we all have to be watching our money. You may not have the money or the time to decorate every room so our Design Consultants suggest that you create a WISH LIST for all the decor projects in your home and we can work with you to have a plan to place to decorate each space one step at a time. We can work will as little or as much or your existing furniture and accessories as you would like, with little money, you can completely change the look of any space.

In the above photo's our client wanted to give her second bedroom in her condo a new look, however she was on a limited budget. We went into the condo found that we could rearrange the furniture by placing the bed on the opposite wall and placing the dresser on a 45 degree angle giving the room a more open feel. The next step for this client will be to paint the room in a neutral color, drapery panels, and add art work above the wall over the bed. The total cost to redesign this room was $1200 including the paint, accessories, and closet organizing.

DecoHopping into Easter!

Now that we have hopped into Easter, the snow is finally gone and it's is beginning to look a lot like summer is going to be here sooner than later....I thought I would leave you with a few ideas and inspirations for the weekend.

I love working with the color white and adding accents, nothing feels more cozy and relaxing than a white palette with accents colors. Since we are in spring for those who like the spring colors I thought I would show you examples of decorating with the white.

White is associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity. It is considered to be the color of perfection. White means safety, purity, and cleanliness. As opposed to black, white usually has a positive connotation. White can represent a successful beginning. In heraldry, white depicts faith and purity. Hence the photo's shown below, they create purity and relaxation. Now by adding color it brings character and boldness to the room which normally highlights the accents in the room.
Notice how by using black accents create a focal point in the room, the room does not feel heavy and the yellow color is not over bearing.l love surprises and nothing says more when your actions speak louder than your words, if you have kids then this weekend after the Easter Egg Hunt surprise them with cupcakes, cookies and some lovely fruit punch. If your spouse has to work try to get the kids off to bed, and if there are no kids involved then set a side some chocolate Easter egg and some champagne and curl up on the couch for a movie night. Just because it's Easter it doesn't that adults can't have fun to.

Let your Personal Style be your Interior Style!

Growing up you always had a top or a shoe that you loved so much that you wanted to wear all the time, let`s not mention as we got older you had a pair a jeans that even if mustard fell on it you would have to run and put it in the washing machine right away. Well today I`m here to say let your Personal Style shine through your the interiors of your home. If you love the Tiffany Bracelet so much use the silver accents and the color of the Tiffany box with the white ribbon as an inspiration.

If you are not one to take chances why not use color as an accent, there are over 100 different shades of white so why not do one wall in the color you like or better yet find accent pillows or area rugs that reflect the true you. Remember you might work 8-10 hours per day but don`t forget how long it might take you to get ready in the morning not to mention your travel time to and from work everyday, so my suggestion is make your home your palace so that when you get home you relax the minute you open your front door.

Remember to always let your Personal Style be your Interior Style!

Interior Fashion goes beyond where you think it stops!

Fashion does not just have to be clothing, why not give your home a make over, create a list of rooms, spaces thatr you would like to fashionize and take it one at a time. I usually recommend that you start with the exterior and work your way thru the home as if you were a vistor. Remember curb appeal is always an excellent welcoming sign. Visit home depot or lowes for quick, easy and cost efficitive DIY ideas, because before you know it fall will be here.

I`ve learned alot in my years of being in the design industry that clients don`t have the time to do the work on their own, so if you are the designer then create an easy to-do list for them and create steps for them to follow. If you are the client create a wish list for your designer and provide a budget so that the products are easy to find with the overall budget in mind.

Interior Decorating Project Phases...~Phase 1~Initial ConsultationWe conduct a Client interview to discuss your wants, needs, stylistic preferences, as well as your budget. Our Design Consultants will request that you collect photos of ideas that inspire the finished look that your are trying to attain, this helps our Design Consultants to crystallize your vision. We will then complete a lifestyle questionnaire and conduct a room measure as well as take before photos....~Phase 2~Preliminary DesignOnce you have hired Eilatan Interiors, your design consultant will review your Lifestyle Questionnaire, then explore space planning options to determine which layout is perfect for your space, which will also include furniture and accessory placement. Then we develop the color palettes, and design ideas for your consideration....~Phase 3~Client PresentationOnce the design phase is completed we meet with you, and present the desired layout, fabrics, furniture, accessories, and surface material options for you to review. You will also be provided with the total cost of your project. After the presentation should you require any further changes, we will discuss the modifications, and proceed where required....~Phase 4~Ordering PhaseAfter you have approved all the items for your design, we present you with a purchase agreement to acquire payment for all the selected items for your project.Once you have signed off on the purchase agreement and have given the required deposits on all the items for your orders, we will then begin the odering process and you will be notified of the delivery time periods. ...~Phase 5~Trade PhaseNow that your furniture and accessories have been ordered, it is time to start the Trade Phase. We then begin our scheduling process for the trades to come in and complete the work outlined. Trades work should be completed prior to the delivery of all furniture and accessories. Once all trade work is complete, your Design Consultant conducts a walk-thru and checks for deficiencies, should there be any minor work or touch ups to be completed, the trades are served with a deficiency list and given a deadline to have the work completed, this ensures our clients' expectations are met. ...~Phase 6~Showcasing Furniture & Accessory'sOnce the furniture and accessories have been delivered we will then complete the placement of each item according to the floor plan and showcase the accessories to complete the Job.
